Brighton Ballet Theater. School of Russian Ballet Brighton Ballet Theater was created to preserve and further the tradition of Russian classical and folk dance in New York City. The goals of BBT are:

to provide an AFFORDABLE and PROFESSIONAL dance education and performance opportunities to all students, regardless of talent, ability or ethnic background;

to serve as a community cultural oasis;

to create a common ground through dance so children, of many ethnic and immigrant communities can interact and study other cultures through classical ballet and folk dances

By adhering to these goals, BBT hopes to mold and develop responsible, well-rounded, passionate children who have the potential to succeed in any field. EKATERINA SHENGELIA

Instructor and Performer.

1 year with BBT

Education: Certified Ballroom Dance Instructor since 1997

Ekaterina was one of the most aspiring ballroom dancers of the Kavkaz Republics, the Former Soviet Union. At the age of 16, she formed a dance pair with Vladimir Sarkisyan. A year later, the two have won ballroom dance championship of The Republic of Georgia. With her dance partner, she continued to win various regional championships of the Kavkaz area and Russia. At the age of 19, Ekaterina passed exams and joined The World Organization of Professional Ballroom Dance Instructors, thus becoming one of the youngest members of that organization.

At BBT, Ekaterina teaches ballroom dance with Vladimir.
