BBT Summer Registration Information

We are reopening BBT in a phased & measured approach to help keep all the students, and teachers safer and healthier in the air-conditioned space of The Center for Artistic Development, Inc. (2880 West 12 Street, Brooklyn, NY 11224).

All information needed to register for the Summer 2020 session is included in this guide for current and prospective students and their parents.

We ask all potential and current students to register anew with us every academic year and each summer, as well as anytime there is a change in personal information (such as an address, phone, guardianship, etc.). It is essential we have up-to-date information on each student in case of emergency and also for the efficiency and accuracy of our class rosters and billing system.

If you are a continuing BBT student and have not had a gap in your studies with us (i.e., if you attended BBT classes throughout the most recent academic year and summer without a break), you are NOT required to pay the annual registration fee although you must still submit a new, updated application at least once per year.

We also ask that students and parents read carefully and re-submit a signed Registration Package (including Application, Policy Statement, Code of Conduct, and Photo/Video Release) each year because these documents are subject to change and include important notices about health and safety policies, refunds, scheduling changes, fees and the like.

Please note that admission is on a rolling basis. Tuition is paid in advance, either in a yearly or six-month membership or in four-week installments, starting from the date of the first class. Only those students who have paid their tuition and fees in full may attend classes.

About BBT | The School of Russian American Ballet (Video):

Established in 1987, Brighton Ballet Theater/School of Russian American Ballet (BBT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and developing Russian classical and folk dance traditions in New York City. BBT is situated in the heart of the Russian cultural district of Brooklyn, in the Brighton Beach /Manhattan Beach area, where we offer affordable, professional dance instruction and performances on the campus of Kingsborough Community College.

More than 400 students from diverse backgrounds attend BBT each year to learn the art of dance. BBT's well-rounded curriculum is founded on the Vaganova (Russian) Method, a ballet training system not only for correct technique, but also for proper disposition; students may also pursue classes in character dance, contemporary dance, international folk dance, jazz dance, etc. Under the care and guidance of BBT’s International faculty, who graduated best ballet schools and colleges and have performed with the most prestigious ballet companies of Russia, Ukraine, and the USA, our dancers gain the skills they need for life-long health, creativity, self-discipline, personal responsibility and professional success.
