WHY SPONSOR BRIGHTON BALLET THEATER?

There are a number of reasons why companies might be interested in sponsoring Brighton Ballet Theater…

The BBT brand is one that is recognized and respected
The BBT brand represents a tradition of excellence. We have built our reputation over a period of 17 years, and parents know that our shows are educational as well as entertaining. Building a relationship with BBT means that a corporate sponsor can reach a valuable target audience while creating a marketing image that is family-friendly. Clients looking to distribute product trials on-site at our performances know that their products will be identified with a high-quality, highly-respected dance company.

BBT continues to grow, generating new excitement -- and new marketing opportunities
We recently expanded from Brooklyn to City Center in Manhattan and we now perform in all five of New York’s boroughs. Whether it is a product launch at Saks Fifth Avenue or a celebration of Russian cultural heritage at the New York Aquarium, BBT is always looking for new ways to create opportunities for corporate sponsors. BBT has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Jewish Museum and even the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.

BBT is an excellent way to reach the fast-growing Russian demographic
Brighton Ballet Theater is based in Brighton Beach, which is still the home of the largest Russian-speaking population outside of Russia. BBT advertises extensively in the Russian-language media, giving sponsors a unique way to gain market access to one of the fastest-growing ethnic demographics in New York. By some estimates, there are 200,000 Russian-speaking individuals living within 20 minutes of Brighton Beach -- including many new immigrants who are still learning about different brands and products.

BBT performances offer a number of ways for sponsors to become involved
At each performance, sponsors can choose one of several methods to gain the maximum number of advertising impressions. Whether it is an advertisement in our performance programs, a banner ad on the Brighton Ballet Theater Company Web site, or the opportunity to hand out product samples both before and after performances, BBT recognizes that different clients have different needs. We are willing to work with you to create an optimal marketing and advertising package.

Brighton Ballet Theater Company
Founded in 1987, Brighton Ballet Theater Company (BBT) is an 8-person professional dance company that specializes in classical ballet and Russian folk dance. Each year, BBT hosts two full-length spectaculars at theaters in New York City: a winter holiday production of “A Winter Fairy Tale” (based on Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker”) and a three-day World of Dance Festival in early June. In 2004-2005, BBT will launch a regular performance season consisting of shows at the Millennium Theater in Brooklyn and the TriBeCa Performing Arts Center in Manhattan, thanks to generous funding from the Ford Foundation. BBT productions are known for their colorful and spectacular costumes, world-class professional dancers, and dedication to providing affordable family-oriented entertainment.

The Theater of the Young Audience
Plans are underway in 2004 for the creation of the Theater of the Young Audience, which will offer a series of educational shows primarily for families and young audiences. These productions will feature authentic Russian national costumes, traditional folk music from Russian composers and excerpts from famous Russian stories. For example, BBT is currently working on a Russian-themed extravaganza loosely adapted from Nikolai Gogol's well-loved Ukrainian folk tale "Evenings at a Village Near Dekanka."

Performance History
Each year, BBT performs at a number of venues around New York City, including professional theaters, city parks and tourist landmarks. In 2004, BBT performed at the Brooklyn College Performing Arts Center, Lincoln Center and Gracie Mansion. In 2003, BBT performed at Saks Fifth Avenue, the New York Aquarium, Merkin Hall, Brooklyn’s Grand Army Plaza and at various city parks celebrating the first-ever “Russian Heritage Week” in New York City. In previous years, BBT has performed at the Russian Tea Room, Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, the Jewish Museum and Madison Square Garden. In addition, BBT has toured both upstate New York and Florida with a series of Russian ballet shows.

The artists of BBT
The dancers, choreographers and costume designers of BBT have garnered rave reviews from the media, prominent politicians and local community-based arts supporters. Brighton Ballet Theater is well-known for an outstanding group of world-class ballet instructors and dancers, many of whom began their own careers with premier companies such as the Bolshoi, Kirov and Moscow Classical Ballet. In fact, the New York Times featured the artists of BBT in a full-page article in June 2003 (“Bolshoi to Brooklyn, In a Bound”). This year, BBT is proud to perform alongside Irina Dvorovenko and Maxim Beloserkovsy (principal dancers of American Ballet Theater formerly of the Bolshoi Ballet) at the “Russian Splendor” concert at Lincoln Center.

“A Winter Fairy Tale”
As part of its 2004/2005 performance season, Brighton Ballet Theater Company will offer several performances of “A Winter Fairy Tale” at theaters in both Manhattan and Brooklyn. Featuring the music of Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker” and a cast of 20 professional dancers as well as 70 children performers from BBT/School of Russian Ballet, the productions represent a unique opportunity to sample the rich artistry of the Russian cultural heritage. Adoring audiences of parents, friends and dance fans join us each year in celebrating the holiday season with a mix of festive costumes and spectacular dance numbers.

The productions scheduled for early December feature:
  • Original choreography from Edouard Kouchnarev, a former soloist with the Ukrainian State Theater of Classical Ballet and Ballet Cuidad in Barcelona
  • Handmade, imaginative costumes from costume designers in St. Petersburg
  • An all-star cast of professional dancers from leading dance theaters in Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Algeria, India and China
  • 70 children from the School of Russian Ballet dancing on
