Character dance is a specific subdivision of classical dance. It is the stylized representation of a traditional folk or national dance, mostly from European countries, and uses movements and music which have been adapted for the ballet theater stage.

Many times in a classical ballet performance, some movements seem not to belong to classical ballet, those are character dance movements.” - Yelena Sherstnieva (Vaganova Ballet Academy) -

Our live online character dance classes combine serious dance instruction and a warm, friendly environment. Keeping health, positive attitude and injury prevention at the forefront, our instructors help young dancers reach new heights in both spirit and technique.

Starting Tuesday, March 23rd to attend an online session, you need to fill out a small no-fee registration application on our website https://www.bbtballet.org/online-classes-application simply to track who is interested in each class. After the registration, you will receive the link(s) and instructions on how to join the group(s).
